Common Dwarf Mongoose

Africa's smallest carnivore: Common Dwarf Mongoose.

This highly social species lives in extended family groups of up to thirty animals. In the strict hierarchy within the group most of the times only the group's dominant female becomes pregnant, and she is responsible for 80% of the pups reared by the group. As a house they prefer an old termite mount.
